In blue and shades on medium grain paper.
Produced by re-engraving the first strip of 5 (Row A) of the 1879 printing
and repeating it five times to complete the pane.

SECOND PRINTING CHARACTERISTICS ON RECONSTRUCTED PANE OF 25

Type 1: Relatively wide spacing between "UNIVERSAL" and "SALVADOR".
Type 2: Most numeral "5" and letter "C" of medium size if compared to Row A (small)
and Row E (large) of the first printing.
Type 3: REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR" in small letters.
Type 4: Background lines of equal strength.
Type 5: Background lines alternate in thick and thin lines.


1887 SAN SALVADOR to LIMA, PERU*
5c (Type 5) with 20c issue for single outbound registered rate.

For a very short period of time in 1887 the 11c outbound rate
via Panama was reduced to 10c.


NATAL SPECIMENS
Stamps provided to the Natal Central Post Office by the UPU.
Affixed to album pages and handstamped with purple "SPECIMEN",
typed used between 1902 - 1903.

1886 SAN SALVADOR to PARIS, FRANCE *
5c x 5 (Types 3, 4 and 5) and 1c issue for proper 26c single outbound 
registered rate, postmarked November 29.
